Life Tales : Guides

Life Tales was created to help children in care understand their experiences, their rights, and their feelings through the power of storytelling. The books are only one part of that support. The companion resources are designed to help the adults around children use the stories in thoughtful, practical ways

Here you will find a range of resources for carers, teachers, and professionals, along with companion guides for each character’s story and more. These resources offer simple explanations, conversation prompts, and practical ideas for responding to the difficult emotions that often sit beneath the stories—things like worry, anger, loss, belonging, and identity.

Life Tales acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of the lands on which we work and pays respect to Elders past and present. We recognise the ongoing impact of colonisation and the over-representation of Aboriginal children in out-of-home care, and we commit to culturally safe, trauma-informed practice that honours identity, connection, and belonging.
